Being a proud Yorkshire lass I have to wish all my friends and followers a Very Happy Yorkshire Day and display the Yorkshire White Rose and a few of my favorite Yorkshire things on my blog today!
Got to love Yorkshire Tea – the best in the world!
Yorkshire puds are yummy..
Just like Grandma used to make!
My favorite Yorkshire seaside town.
Walk the 199 Abbey steps to the beautiful ruins of the Abbey, where the foundations date back to the 12th century.
Award winning fish and chips at ”The Magpie”
My favorite city of York and where I had the pleasure of living and working for a short time.
So much to see in history and culture.
Spectacular Malham cove in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
Memories of weekend walks with the children.
The steam train at Haworth railway station.
Haworth is a beautiful historical village and was the home of the famous ”Bronte”Sisters.
I visited this place often as I was born and grew up in this area.
Said to be Emily Bronte’s setting for Wuthering Heights!
Wild and wonderful!
Not to forget the Yorkshire anthem
”ILKLEY MOOR BAHT’AT”
Instrumental version and images of the town of Ilkley
I hope you enjoyed my little pieces of Yorkshire ”God’s county”
If you need a translation of the song into the Queens English, I will try my best! BAHT’AT in Yorkshire means ”without a hat” and the moral to the tale is ”always wear a hat on Ilkley Moor when you are taking out a young lady, otherwise you will catch your death of cold! ”
